S&P recently contributed to the International Comparative Legal Guide (ICLG): Latest Briefings, providing valuable insights on Egypt’s recently issued New Labor Law No. 14 of 2025. The New Labor Law will enter into force as of September 1st, 2025, except for the provisions related to labour courts, which shall apply as of October 1st, 2025.
The New Labor Law comes to replace the Old Labor Law No. 12 of 2003, which has been in effect for 22 years, introducing significant amendments aimed at aligning legislation with the realities of the global market.
