CrossBoundary Energy

Establishing a Solar Energy Power Plant in the Suez Economic Zone

Shehata & Partners was retained by CrossBoundary Energy since the year 2021. We have started off by delivering a holistic legal guide to the Solar Energy Sector in Egypt. Afterwards in 2022, we have begun working with CrossBoundary on establishing their corporate entity in the Suez Economic Zone which was quite a lengthy and a complicated process.

We started off by providing a comprehensive legal guide for the solar energy sector in Egypt by mid-2021. Afterwards in 2022, we begun working with CrossBoundary on establishing their corporate entity in the Suez Economic Zone which was quite a lengthy and complicated process. Meanwhile, we have assisted CrossBoundary on their licensing with the Egyptian Electricity Regulator (EgyptERA), their corporate governance matters as well as their social insurance law matters. We have also assisted them with applying for a tax exemption certificate for their imported shipments.

This matter was quite complicated due to the fact that CrossBoundary is only the second solar energy company established under the auspices of the Suez Economic Zone and this made it a quite hectic and a demanding matter requiring continuous conversations with the Suez Economic Zone to help them understand our legal issues and how we can navigate them safely and in a timely manner.

Since we have always been a pioneer in the clean energy field, we always try as much as possible to help green energy companies to flourish in a challenging and a cutthroat market such as the Egyptian one. Thus, this matter is one of extreme importance to our law Firm.
